I was able to visit a local night club that I have been wanting to go to for some time so I was appreciative of the opportunity even though it was a result of missing Great Stirrup Cay. We also visited some of my other favorite venue’s in Nassau including Pirate Republic Brewery and Senor Frogs. We have visited Nassau numerous times, so we decided to simply sleep in late and stay on the Sky. However, for first time visitors, while a crowded and busy island, there are numerous things to visit and see, including Paradise Island. I would recommend taking a walk or taxi up to the John Watling’s Rum Distillery.

These are the aft-facing suites located on decks 8, 9 and 10. Each of them features a separate bedroom and a living room, a large bathroom (with bathtub/shower) and a large veranda (with 2 sun loungers, table and chairs). The owners suites can accommodate five cruisers and each owners suite is 835 square feet with a 353-square-foot balcony. Owners suites include bedrooms, living rooms and dining rooms, along with hot tubs and soaking tubs.
The Stardust Lounge on Norwegian Sky is uniquely positioned at the stern when most main theaters are now located at ships' bows, but the venue remains a substantial full double-decker space. Norwegian Sky is not the newest ship at sea, but it packs a big punch with a fun slate of nonstop activities, lively lounges, a good variety of dining venues and terrific short itineraries. Great Stirrup Cay does not have a pier for the ship to dock eliminating the need to tender, which exists at the adjacent RCCL Coco Cay. While this at this prohibits access to island when the seas are rough, I would hate to see the destruction of the island habitat. I can only comment on Coco Cay from a distance, but it not looks like an amusement park.

As far as decor, suites are slightly more upgraded, compared to the staterooms, with darker color palettes that lend the spaces a more elegant look. Ocean-view staterooms are very similar in design, but feature a large, rectangular, ocean-view window in the sleeping area. Unfortunately, these windows are located behind the bed, so you can’t wake up and immediately enjoy the view. You can choose between balcony, ocean-view and interior staterooms. Our gift shops onboard carry everything you’ll need for fun in the sun. Shop from a variety of souvenirs, cosmetics, clothing, snacks and sundry items.
A small selection of ocean-view staterooms feature a round porthole instead of the rectangular window, but the porthole is still behind the bed. The porthole rooms also feature a different color palette and seating area. The ship was redesigned and set to launch as part of the cruise line’s Sun class, which also includes Norwegian Sun.
